10th Anniversary Nanocon Conference
The tenth annual international conference NANOCON'18 offers an opportunity to become acquainted with results of research and development of nanomaterials in the Czech Republic and abroad as well as to meet the worlds' leading scientists working on nanotechnology and to debate with them. This event is organized by the Czech Society for New Materials and Technologies in October 17 - 19, 2018 in Brno, in cooperation with the Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (RCATM) at the Faculty of Science of Palacky University in Olomouc and with the company Tanger Ltd.
Session A - Nanomaterials for Electronic, Magnetic and Optic Applications. Carbon Nanostructures, Quantum Dots
Low-dimensional carbon nanostructures and their applications. Fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, nanodiamonds. Graphene, its derivates and analogues. Quantum dots and their applications. Magnetic, metal and oxidic nanomaterials, alloys. Mechanical properties of nanomaterials. Nanophotonics, spintronics, fluorescent nanomaterials, memory media, nanoelectronics, optical technologies, LED technologies.
Session B - Industrial and Environmental Applications of Nanomaterials
Applications in catalysis, photocatalysis; nanocoatings and paints, thin films, applications in civil construction, chemical, textile and consumer industries. Nanofiltration, water treatment and environmental applications. Energetics, solar cells. Lithium batteries. Nanotribology.
Session C - Bionanotechnology, Nanomaterials in Medicine
Antibacterial materials and products, biosensors, biocatalysers, biochemical applications, biogenic nanomaterials; Targeted drug transport, tissue engineering, diagnostics, MRI and other imaging and analytical methods applied in medicine, molecular analysis, antitumor therapy, intelligent biomaterials, nanoimplants, marking and separation of cells. Nanomachines, nanorobotics.
Session D - Monitoring and Toxicity of Nanomaterials
Influence of nanomaterials on environment and health, potential risks of production, applications and transport of nanomaterials; Monitoring of nanomaterials, toxicity and eco-toxicity of nanomaterials, mechanisms of interaction of nanomaterials with a cell and with living organisms, influence of a size, morphology and functionalization of nanomaterials to their toxicity. Fate of nanomaterials in environment.
Session E - Advanced Methods of Preparation and Characterization of Nanomaterials
Managed functionalization of nanomaterials, self-assembly, hybrid multidimensional systems, new methods and approaches to characterization of nanomaterials, progress in applications of electron microscopy, in scanning tunnelling microscopy and in microscopy of atomic powers, STM/AFM applications – study of chemical reactions, imaging of molecules; nanomechanics, methods of nano-manipulation, methods of computational chemistry for modelling of nanocrystalline materials and their interactions, advanced spectroscopic and synchrotron methods of study of nanomaterials.
