Rodrigo Moreno, nominated as Academician of the World Academy of Ceramics

Rodrigo Moreno, vicepresident of the Spanish Materials Society has been nominated as Academician of the World Academy of Ceramics. The candidature, presented by Professor Anne L. Leriche (France) and supported by Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini (Germany) and Proffessor Mikolaj Szafran (Poland) was evaluated by the Nominating Committee led by Professor Monica Ferrrais and accepted by the Academy Advisory Council, chaired by Dr. Mrityunjay Singh at the session held on June 17, 2019 in Turin, and provisionally accepted by the Academy on August 12, 2019.
Rodrigo Moreno is Research Professor at the Institute of Ceramics & Glass (CSIC, Spain), where he obtained the position of Research Professor in 2004 and where he has developed his entire professional career. He graduated in Chemistry and received a PhD in Chemistry by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). He has co-authored about 400 papers (300 in ISI journals), 9 patents, several book chapters, and one book. He is editor of the Journal of the European Ceramic Society since 2011 and member of the Editorial Boards of other journals. He is currently member of the advisory board of the JECS Trust and member of the Executive Board of FEMS as well as vice president of SOCIEMAT. In 2015 he was distinguished as a Fellow of the European Ceramic Society and in 2017 he received the JECS Trust Award for his outstanding contribution to the development of the Journal.
