Prof Lars Nyborg
Lars Nyborg is Professor of Surface Technology. He is the leader of powder metallurgy and surface technology research within the division of Material and Manufacture. He is also the Director of the Chalmers Production Area of Advance.
He is a fellow of Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and he has taken strong interest in developing scientific co-operation with industry in the area of powder metallurgy, but also in other areas integrating materials and manufacturing engineering research such as metal cutting and high strength materials. Recent projects include the PROENVIRO-project SuSintPart, the MNT-ERA project TAILORSINT. He is actively involved in developing international co-operation including the Sino-Swedish Advanced Materials Exchange Centre, STINT Institutional Project with City University Hong Kong and European research networking in powder metallurgy area. He is also one of the research leaders of MCR and a strong contributor to its development. Lars Nyborg was educated in Gothenburg and received his PhD in 1987. He was awarded the SKF/Chalmers prize for his thesis in 1988 and obtained also as first recipient the Powder Technology prize in 1993. He is author or co-author to 80 journal and conference papers.
