Society profile

The society was established in 1936 as the Norwegian Metallurgical Society. The objective of the society is through meetings, lectures, discussions and publication to exchange experience and knowledge within the metallurgical industry, technology and science. Furthermore, to promote the metallurgical industry, technology and science.

The society today embraces a wider range of topics in materials science and technology, and since 2004 the name of the society is Norwegian Society for Materials Technology.
