FEMS Hybrid Board Meeting Held on 25 November

The FEMS Board meet on 25 November for a productive hybrid meeting, bringing together participants both in person at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Erlangen, Germany, and online. The session featured important discussions on upcoming initiatives and included a meaningful moment of transition within the Federation’s leadership.

During the meeting, Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini chaired his final session as FEMS President, concluding two years of committed and inspiring service to the materials community in Europe. Reflecting on his term, he shared his appreciation with the Board, noting that “it has been a privilege to lead FEMS during the last two years, together with our top management committee members.” He also expressed his full support for Professor Paula Vilarinho as she steps into the role of FEMS President from January 2026.

The Board thanked Professor Boccaccini for his exceptional leadership and dedication, and looks forward to continuing close collaboration with him as Past-President.

FEMS remains committed to strengthening cooperation among materials societies across Europe and advancing the visibility and impact of the materials community.
