Overview:
The 20th International Conference on Aluminium Alloys – ICAA 20 will take place in Berlin, Germany, from 13 to 17 September 2026 as a hybrid event. Organized by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), the conference continues the long-standing ICAA series, which serves as a major forum for presenting and discussing advances in the science and technology of aluminum alloys. With 200 to 400 participants from academia and industry, the event promotes scientific exchange, fosters long-term collaboration, and encourages the active involvement of early career researchers through dedicated awards.
The program covers physical metallurgy across all stages of processing, alloy development, solidification and casting, forming and joining, and emerging fields such as additive manufacturing and the application of artificial intelligence. Emphasis is placed on advanced analytical techniques, including high-resolution electron microscopy, texture analysis, and local chemical characterization, as well as multiscale modeling approaches from atomic mechanisms to process and microstructure simulation. Keynote lectures address both scientific advances and industrial perspectives, providing a comprehensive view of current trends and future developments in aluminum alloy research.
