The FEMS General Assembly 2026 took place on 14 July at the Tsitsanis Museum in Trikala, Greece, in a hybrid format, bringing together representatives of FEMS Member Societies both in person and online.
The Assembly was opened by FEMS President Prof. Paula Vilarinho, who presented the President’s Annual Report, highlighting the Federation’s activities over the past year and outlining future priorities.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included:
- The annual financial report and budget presentation;
- An update on the ongoing FEMS Junior EUROMAT 2026 conference;
- Preparations for FEMS EUROMAT 2027 in Graz, Austria;
- FEMS Board elections;
- Planning of future editions of both the FEMS Junior EUROMAT and FEMS EUROMAT conference series.
The hybrid meeting enabled broad participation from across the FEMS network, reinforcing the Federation’s collaborative approach to advancing the European materials community.
