The AuxDefense 2026 — 5th World Conference on Advanced Materials for Defense is an international conference focused on the latest scientific and technological advances in advanced materials for defense, covering air, sea, land, and space applications.

The event is sponsored by the Portuguese Ministry of National Defense and organized by the University of Minho, Fibrenamics and Sciencentris.

The conference is supported by the Portuguese Materials Society (SPM), a member of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS).

The event will take place on July 1–3, 2026, at the VidaMar Resort Hotel, located in Funchal — a city built on a large slope facing the Atlantic Ocean and shaped like a natural amphitheatre.

AuxDefense 2026 will bring together universities, researchers, technological centres, companies, and stakeholders interested in innovative solutions for this highly demanding field. It aims to foster the exchange of ideas, present the latest developments and trends, propose new solutions, and ultimately promote international collaboration.
