Overview:
The International Materials Science and Engineering Congress – MSE 2026 will take place in Darmstadt, Germany, from 29 September to 01 October 2026 as a hybrid event. Organized by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), MSE is one of Europe’s major congresses in materials science and engineering, typically bringing together more than 1,200 participants from around the world. The 2026 edition features Italy as the guest country, highlighting international collaboration within the materials community.

The congress covers a wide range of research areas, including biomaterials, characterization, digital transformation, functional materials, circular materials, modeling and simulation, processing and synthesis, and structural materials. The scientific program includes plenary lectures, highlight lectures, topical symposia, and extensive poster sessions. MSE 2026 provides a platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to present new findings, discuss emerging trends, and engage in interdisciplinary exchange across all fields of materials science and engineering.
