FEMS congratulates the European Commission and the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) on the launch of the European Advanced Materials Academy (AMAcademy), officially presented during the EIT Education & Skills Days 2025 in Brussels.
As a flagship EU initiative, the AMAacademy will train 200,000 people by 2029, addressing Europe’s urgent need for skilled materials professionals in high-tech sectors such as energy, mobility, electronics, and construction.
The Academy aims to foster excellence and innovation across the advanced materials value chain, supporting lifelong learning, digital transformation, and sustainability.
This initiative is a key contribution to the EU’s Advanced Materials for Industrial Leadership Strategy and the forthcoming Advanced Materials Act (2026) — both central pillars of Europe’s Clean Industrial Deal and the Union of Skills agenda.
