World Materials Day, celebrated this year on 4 November, is an opportunity to highlight how materials science and engineering contribute to our everyday lives and help address societal challenges.

FEMS invites its Member Societies to share the activities they are organising to mark the occasion. From lectures and workshops to school visits, exhibitions and awards, these initiatives showcase the diversity of Europe’s materials community and inspire future generations.

• Before your event: a short description in English, date, location, event link and a promotional image, so that FEMS can help publicise your initiative.
• After your event: a brief report in English highlighting the activities and outcomes, accompanied by photographs cleared for publication and any relevant credits.

Contributions will help us showcase Member Societies’ celebrations through the FEMS website and communication channels, extending their reach across the European materials community.
