FEMS Master Thesis Award 2026

The FEMS Master Thesis Award recognises outstanding master’s theses in materials science and engineering nominated by FEMS Member Societies.

The award promotes excellence among young researchers and strengthens their engagement with the European materials community.

We are delighted to announce the results of the 2026 edition, held during FEMS Junior EUROMAT 2026 in Trikala, Greece:

Eight finalists presented their research to an expert jury at the award final. Their work covered a broad range of topics, from biomaterials and hydrogen technologies to sustainable engineering materials.

We warmly congratulate all the 2026 finalists — Andrada-Ioanna Damian-Buda (DGM, Germany), Sophia Soupiou (HMS, Greece), Cristian Cascioli (AIM, Italy), Ariane Rollandin (SF2M, France), Monika Rejek (PTM, Poland), Fábio Brandão (SPM, Portugal), Maria Chrysidou (HSSTCM, Greece) and José Lorenzo Calderón Solís (SOCIEMAT, Spain) — on the quality of their presentations and research.
