The Portuguese Materials Society (SPM), a FEMS Member Society, invites the materials community to submit abstracts for MATERIAIS 2027, taking place on 22–24 March 2027 at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), Porto, Portugal.
Under the theme “Materials for a Better Future”, the event brings together the XXIII Congress of the Portuguese Materials Society and the XIV International Symposium on Materials, welcoming researchers, students and industry professionals to share their work and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Contributions are welcome across Materials Science and Engineering, including processing technologies, additive manufacturing, functional and structural materials, sustainability, energy applications, polymers, composites, nanomaterials, biomaterials, digital tools and AI-driven materials design.
How to submit
- Register for the congress through the registration page. Agência Abreu will send a confirmation email containing your Registration ID.
- Prepare your abstract in English, using the official template and submission guidelines. Abstracts must not exceed one A4 page.
- Email your abstract together with your registration confirmation email to Materiais2027@isep.ipp.pt by 1 November 2026.
Each registered participant may submit one abstract. The Scientific Committee will review submissions and determine whether accepted contributions will be presented orally or as posters. Authors will be notified by 15 November 2026.
