Cormier TMS awards banquet

After receiving the FEMS Lecturer Award for Excellence in Materials Science and Engineering in 2016-2017 at Junior Euromat in Lausanne, Switzerland in July 2016, Jonathan Cormier was named FEMS/TMS 2018 International Scholar. FEMS-TMS MoU signature

During the TMS annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, board members from The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) and from FEMS agreed to extend their programming collaboration with the signing of a new memorandum of understanding. The new agreement would bring more FEMS-sponsored programming to TMS meetings and more TMS-sponsored programming to FEMS conferences.

The Award for a Lasting and Outstanding Contribution to Materials Science and Engineering is awarded by the Materials Research Society of Serbia to the most distinguished scientists for their overall scientific achievements which have contributed significantly to the advancement of this areas of science, the enhancement of university teaching, education of young scientists and upholding the reputation of the Materials Research Society of Serbia. Eligible candidates for the award include scientists from the territory of the former Yugoslavia, as well as scientists of Serbian origin worldwide, involved in research in the area of materials. The award is given to an individual. It was introduced in 2015. Previous laureates are Prof. Dr. Ivan Bozovic (2015), Prof. Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novaković (2016), and Prof. Dr. Velimir Radmilović (2017). Read more
